Endowment Fund

resources   Endowment Fund

Petra has established several Endowment Funds which will allow you to invest in the on-going work of the church while also enjoying certain tax benefits. Here’s how it works: You donate cash or other assents with a fair market value (real estate, securities, mutual fund shares, etc.) to Mennonite Foundation. Mennonite Foundation will invest your gift, and the earnings will be used for one of the ministries listed below at Petra. Keep in mind that only the gift earnings will be used, not the principal.

  • Missions - Foreign and Local
  • Expansion - Land and/or Buildings
  • General Operations
  • Cemetery (Future)

You are free to designate which of these Endowment Funds your gift will be placed in.  An Endowment Team will manage the earnings appointed by the Elders. The Petra managers currently working with Mennonite Foundation are the Finance Team Leader and the Church Treasurer. Be aware that your gift represents an irrevocable contribution to Mennonite Foundation, and is not refundable to you.
